Benefit: Best cushion arrangement for babies!

The best cushion arrangement for babies!

Three different types of urethane enables your baby to stay in the best comfort position.

Your baby's hips slide securely into the cushion.

This way, it can't move and stays in the best position.

schema about the benefits of side plus

  1. Soft Urethane (thin)
  2. Soft Urethane (thick)
  3. Firm Urethane

Point!

Babies receive the largest strain on their "thighs" when they are in the baby carrier. Side Plus reduces it as much as possible by putting the thickest and most comfortable urethane in this part of the carrier.

Benefit: Advantage to carry in "Piggy-back position"

Various advantages of using the Piggy-back position! Safety support enables you to enjoy the piggy-back carrying position safely.

piggy-back-side-plus.jpg

There are lots of benefits when using the piggy-back position. "Safety support" prevents your baby from falling down. So, it is very easy to carry your baby on your back.

Why use the piggy-back position?

piggy-back-position-side-plus.jpg

  • Good visibility

There is no obstacle that limits the parents' view. Your field of vision becomes smaller when you carry your baby in face-to-face position because the baby's head might be in front of you limiting your sight.

  • Both hands are free

You can use both hands. It is very helpful for busy parents.

  • Develops babies' sense of balance

Babies can look not only up and down but also left and right at the same time as the mother/father moves. Babies also feel the mothers/fathers movements through their body. This is very good to develop the baby's sense of balance.

  • Prevents babies' constipation

Babies can move at the same rithm as their mothers/fathers. It activates the movement of the baby's bowel.

  • Reduces strain on the parents abdominal muscles

It reduces strain on the parents' skeleton. When you carry your baby in piggy-back position, you use your back muscles more than your abdominal muscles. Because your back muscles are larger and stronger than your abdominal muscles, it feels more comfortable to carry your baby in piggy-back position.

Point of Notice!

The position of the backbone when you carry your baby in piggy-back position

Conventional baby carrier

(no waist belt)

Waist belt baby carrier

schema of conventional baby carrier schema of waist belt baby carriers
Baby's backbone aligns with mother's backbone. Baby's backbone does not align with mother's backbone. Therefore, babies tend to throw their head.

When using the piggy-back position, conventional baby carriers(No waist belt type) allow you to carry your baby in a high position. In this case, the baby's backbone aligns with the mother's backbone. You can comfortably carry your baby. On the other hand, when you use a waist belt type baby carrier, the carrying position automatically becomes much lower because it fixes the baby's position on the waist. Therefore, the baby's backbone does not align with the mother's backbone, and makes it easy for babies to throw their head back. Side Plus firmly supports the baby's head, neck and back with head and back support board and sleeping support. They work well for retroflexion to all directions which is not only to the back but also to the left and right.

Benefit: "Head-and-Back support Board

Dacky's special function "Head-and back support board" firmly supports your baby's neck and back

Even new parents can ensure enough safety and easily carry their babies in piggy-back position.

Using the under-arm position

schema of the under the arm position

The most important point when you carry a newborn baby is to support his/her neck. Carrying in under-arm position is highly recommended for newborn babies because this position makes it possible to support the baby's neck. If you carry your baby in a vertical position, the baby receives lots of strain on his/her neck because of your movement.

The under-arm position also keeps a 45 degree angle, so you can carry your baby like a bouncer. Also the dislocation of the hip joint is one of the worries for newborn babies. Side Plus reduces the pressure on the baby's hip joint. Therefore using the head-and-back support board and moderately soft waist belt ensures enough space so that the baby can move his legs freely. This structure prevents babies receiving pressure from both sides unlike a sling.

The head-and-back support board prevents the baby's head to fall back as well as to the left or right. This way a potential injury is avoided.

The mesh breathes very well. The comfortable, soft fabric feels pleasant and gently supports the baby's head. In addition, it absorbs perspiration very well.

Air vents on the head-and-neck support board create an air path to ensure the breathability.

Benefit: Soft shoulder belt & Padded waist belt

"Soft shoulder belt" and "padded waist belt" effectively disperse the baby's weight

schema of the soft padded shoulder and waist belt

  2. Padded shoulder belt

Reduces strain on the parents' shoulder

  3. Padded waist belt

Padded shoulder belt

The shoulder belt is very resilient but also very comfortable. In the waist belt a very soft urethane is used compared to conventional baby carriers. It fits perfect, even to slim parents. (Waist size is available down to 140cm.)

waist belt does not fit well because it is too hard

The waist belt reduces the pain compared to normal carriers

In general, a waist belt is not soft but hard. A hard waist belt doesn't fit well around the hips. (Red circles). As a result, the extra space makes it uncomfortable. The waist belt of the Side Plus is moderately soft and therefore ensures a comfortable but firm fit.
